കൊടിക്കുന്നിൽ സുരേഷ് എംപി സ്പീക്കർക്ക് പരാതി നൽകി

കൊടിക്കുന്നിൽ സുരേഷ് തന്റെ കത്തിൽ സംഭവത്തെ “ഒരു സിറ്റിംഗ് പാർലമെന്റ് അംഗത്തിനെതിരെയുള്ള ആക്രമണം മാത്രമല്ല, ലോക്സഭയുടെ അന്തസ്സിനും പദവിക്കും നേരെയുള്ള ഗുരുതരമായ അപമാനം” എന്ന് വിശേഷിപ്പിച്ചു. എംപിയുടെ സംരക്ഷണവും സുരക്ഷയും ഉറപ്പാക്കാൻ ബാധ്യസ്ഥരായ പോലീസ് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥർ തന്നെ പൊതുജനങ്ങളുടെ മുന്നിൽ വെച്ച് അദ്ദേഹത്തെ ശാരീരികമായി ആക്രമിക്കുകയും അപമാനിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തതിൽ നേരിട്ട് പങ്കാളികളാണെന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടി.

സംഭവത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് വിശദവും വസ്തുതാപരവുമായ ഒരു റിപ്പോർട്ട് എത്രയും വേഗം സമർപ്പിക്കാൻ കേരള പോലീസ് ഡയറക്ടർ ജനറലിന് നിർദ്ദേശം നൽകണമെന്ന് കൊടിക്കുന്നിൽ സുരേഷ് സ്പീക്കറോട് ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു. പാർലമെന്ററി പദവിയും അന്തസ്സും ലംഘിക്കപ്പെട്ടതിനെക്കുറിച്ച് സമഗ്രമായ അന്വേഷണം നടത്തുന്നതിനായി വിഷയം ലോക്‌സഭയുടെ പ്രിവിലേജസ് കമ്മിറ്റിക്ക് വിടണമെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം അഭ്യർത്ഥിച്ചു. അക്രമത്തിലും ദുഷ്‌പ്രവൃത്തിയിലും ഉൾപ്പെട്ട എല്ലാ ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥർക്കെതിരെയും, സംഭവം തടയുന്നതിൽ പരാജയപ്പെട്ടവർക്കെതിരെയും കർശനമായ അച്ചടക്ക നടപടിയും നിയമ നടപടിയും സ്വീകരിക്കണമെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു.

ഈ സംഭവം “രാഷ്ട്രത്തിന്റെ ജനാധിപത്യ ഘടനയ്ക്ക് വളരെ ദുഃഖകരമായ സന്ദേശം നൽകി” എന്ന് കൊടിക്കുന്നിൽ സുരേഷ് പറഞ്ഞു, അവിടെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ട പ്രതിനിധികൾ പോലും പോലീസിന്റെ അതിക്രമങ്ങളിൽ നിന്ന് സുരക്ഷിതരല്ല. അത്തരം പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾ പാർലമെന്ററി ജനാധിപത്യത്തിന്റെ പവിത്രതയെ ദുർബലപ്പെടുത്തുന്നുവെന്നും കേരള പോലീസിൽ നിന്നും സംസ്ഥാന അധികാരികളിൽ നിന്നും ഉത്തരവാദിത്തം ആവശ്യപ്പെടുന്നുവെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം
പറഞ്ഞു.

“പാർലമെന്റ് അംഗങ്ങളുടെ പവിത്രതയും സുരക്ഷയും എല്ലായ്‌പ്പോഴും ഉയർത്തിപ്പിടിക്കണം. ഇത് ഒരു വ്യക്തിയെ മാത്രമല്ല – നമ്മുടെ പാർലമെന്ററി ജനാധിപത്യത്തിന്റെ അന്തസ്സും സമഗ്രതയും സംരക്ഷിക്കുന്നതിനെക്കുറിച്ചാണ്,” കൊടിക്കുന്നിൽ സുരേഷ് പറഞ്ഞു.

Congress Chief Whip,Kodikunnil Suresh MP Seeks Speaker’s Intervention Over Police Brutality Against Shafi Parambil MP

konnivartha.com; Chief Whip of the Congress Parliamentary Party in the Lok Sabha, Kodikunnil Suresh MP, has written to the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Om Birla, seeking immediate intervention and appropriate action over the shocking incident of police brutality against Shafi Parambil MP at Perambra in Kozhikode, Kerala.

In his letter, Kodikunnil Suresh described the incident as “not merely an assault on a sitting Member of Parliament but a grave affront to the dignity and privilege of the Lok Sabha.” He pointed out that the police personnel, who were duty-bound to ensure the protection and security of the Hon’ble MP, were themselves directly involved in physically attacking and humiliating him in full public view.

Kodikunnil Suresh urged the Speaker to direct the Director General of Police, Kerala, to submit a detailed and factual report on the incident at the earliest. He further requested that the matter be referred to the Committee of Privileges of the Lok Sabha for a comprehensive inquiry into the violation of parliamentary privilege and dignity. He also demanded that strict disciplinary and legal action be initiated against all officials involved in the act of violence and misconduct, including those who failed to prevent the incident.

Kodikunnil Suresh stated that the episode has “sent a deeply distressing message to the democratic fabric of the nation,” where even elected representatives are not safe from police excesses. He emphasized that such actions undermine the sanctity of parliamentary democracy and demanded accountability from the Kerala Police and the state authorities.

“The sanctity and security of Members of Parliament must be upheld at all times. This is not just about one individual — it is about protecting the dignity and integrity of our parliamentary democracy,” Kodikunnil Suresh said.
