രാഷ്ട്രപതി ദ്രൗപദി മുർമു മുൻ രാഷ്ട്രപതി ശ്രീ കെ ആർ നാരായണന്റെ അർദ്ധകായപ്രതിമ അനാച്ഛാദനം ചെയ്തു. തിരുവനന്തപുരത്ത് രാജ്‌ഭവനിൽ നടന്ന ചടങ്ങിൽ മുൻ രാഷ്ട്രപതി രാം നാഥ് കോവിന്ദ്, കേരള ഗവർണർ രാജേന്ദ്ര വിശ്വനാഥ് അർലേക്കർ, ബിഹാർ ഗവർണർ ആരിഫ് മുഹമ്മദ് ഖാൻ, മറ്റു വിശിഷ്ട വ്യക്തികൾ എന്നിവർ പങ്കെടുത്തു.
ശ്രീ കെ ആർ നാരായണന്റെ ജീവിതം ധൈര്യത്തിന്റെയും സ്ഥിരോത്സാഹത്തിന്റെയും ആത്മവിശ്വാസത്തിന്റെയും കഥയാണെന്നു രാഷ്ട്രപതി പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങേയറ്റം അർപ്പണബോധത്തോടെയും വിദ്യാഭ്യാസത്തിന്റെ കരുത്തിലൂടെയും അദ്ദേഹം നമ്മുടെ രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ പരമോന്നത ഭരണഘടനാപദവിയിൽ എത്തിച്ചേർന്നു. ലക്ഷ്യബോധത്താൽ നയിക്കപ്പെടുമ്പോൾ ദൃഢനിശ്ചയത്തിനും അവസരത്തിനും എന്തെല്ലാം നേടാൻ കഴിയും എന്നതിന്റെ പ്രതീകമായിരുന്നു അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ അക്കാദമിക മികവ്. രാഷ്ട്രീയത്തിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കുന്നതിനു മുൻപ്, ശ്രീ കെ ആർ നാരായണൻ ഇന്ത്യയുടെ വിദേശകാര്യസേവനത്തിൽ വിശിഷ്ടമായ ജീവിതപന്ഥാവു കെട്ടിപ്പടുത്തുവെന്നു ദ്രൗപദി മുർമു പറഞ്ഞു. സമാധാനം, നീതി, സഹകരണം എന്നീ മൂല്യങ്ങൾ അദ്ദേഹം ആത്മാർഥതയോടെ ഉയർത്തിപ്പിടിച്ചു. നീതിബോധത്തിന്റെയും ഏവരെയും ഉൾച്ചേർക്കുന്നതിന്റെയും തത്വങ്ങളിൽ ശ്രീ നാരായണൻ എല്ലായ്പോഴും ഉറച്ചുനിന്നുവെന്നു രാഷ്ട്രപതി കൂട്ടിച്ചേർത്തു.
ജന്മനാടായ കേരളവുമായുള്ള ശ്രീ നാരായണന്റെ ബന്ധം ആഴത്തിൽ വേരൂന്നിയതായിരുന്നുവെന്ന് രാഷ്ട്രപതി പറഞ്ഞു. നാടിന്റെ സാമൂഹ്യപുരോഗതിയിൽ നിന്നും, വിദ്യാഭ്യാസത്തിനും ഉൾച്ചേർക്കലിനും നൽകിയ ഊന്നലിൽ നിന്നും അദ്ദേഹം പ്രചോദനം ഉൾക്കൊണ്ടു. പരമോന്നത പദവിയിലെത്തിയ ശേഷവും തന്റെ വേരുകളുമായുള്ള ബന്ധം അദ്ദേഹം നിലനിർത്തി. ജനങ്ങളുടെയും രാഷ്ട്രത്തിന്റെയും വികസനത്തിൽ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസത്തിന്റെ പങ്കിനു ജീവിതത്തിലുടനീളം, ശ്രീ നാരായണൻ ഊന്നൽ നൽകിയതായും രാഷ്ട്രപതി പറഞ്ഞു. അദ്ദേഹത്തെ സംബന്ധിച്ചിടത്തോളം വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം ചുരുക്കം ചിലർക്കു മാത്രമുള്ള പ്രത്യേക അവകാശമായിരുന്നില്ല; മറിച്ച്, ഏവരുടെയും അവകാശമായിരുന്നു. നാഗരികതയുടെ വളർച്ചയ്ക്കു മാനുഷികമൂല്യങ്ങൾ അനിവാര്യമാണെന്നും സമൂഹത്തിന്റെ വികസനത്തിന് അവ അടിസ്ഥാനപരമാണെന്നും ശ്രീ നാരായണൻ വിശ്വസിച്ചു.
നൈതികത, സമഗ്രത, അനുകമ്പ, ജനാധിപത്യമനോഭാവം എന്നിവയുടെ സമ്പന്നമായ പാരമ്പര്യമാണ് ശ്രീ കെ ആർ നാരായണൻ അവശേഷിപ്പിച്ചതെന്നും രാഷ്ട്രപതി പറഞ്ഞു. ഇന്നു നാം അദ്ദേഹത്തെ ഓർക്കുമ്പോൾ, ഏവരെയും കൂടുതൽ ഉൾക്കൊള്ളുന്നതും നീതിയുക്തവും അനുകമ്പാപൂർണവുമായ ഇന്ത്യ കെട്ടിപ്പടുക്കുന്നതിനായി, രാഷ്ട്രനിർമ്മാണത്തിനു വേണ്ടി സമർപ്പിച്ച അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ജീവിതത്തിൽ നിന്നു പ്രചോദനം ഉൾക്കൊള്ളേണ്ടതുണ്ട്. സമത്വം, സമഗ്രത, പൊതുജനസേവനം എന്നീ മൂല്യങ്ങൾ ഉയർത്തിപ്പിടിക്കുന്നതിൽ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ സ്മരണ ഏവർക്കും പ്രചോദനമാകുമെന്നും ദ്രൗപദി മുർമു പ്രത്യാശ പ്രകടിപ്പിച്ചു.
മുൻ രാഷ്ട്രപതി ശ്രീ രാം നാഥ് കോവിന്ദ് ചടങ്ങിനെ അഭിസംബോധന ചെയ്തു. രാജ്യത്തിന് വലിയ സംഭാവനകള്‍ നല്‍കിയ മുന്‍ രാഷ്ട്രപതിമാരുടെ ഓര്‍മ നിലനിര്‍ത്താന്‍ സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലെ രാജ്ഭവനുകള്‍ ശ്രമിക്കണമെന്ന തന്റെ ആശയം ആദ്യമായി നടപ്പിലാക്കിയതിൽ കേരള രാജ്ഭവനെ അദ്ദേഹം അഭിനന്ദിച്ചു.
ശ്രീ കെ.ആർ. നാരായണൻ ഭരണഘടനാ തലവൻ മാത്രമായിരുന്നില്ല, ഭരണഘടനയുടെ യഥാർത്ഥ സംരക്ഷകനുമായിരുന്നുവെന്ന് ഗവർണർ ശ്രീ രാജേന്ദ്ര വിശ്വനാഥ അർലേക്കർ പറഞ്ഞു. ശ്രീ കെ ആർ നാരായണൻ തന്റെ ജീവിതം രാജ്യത്തിനും ജനങ്ങൾക്കും വേണ്ടി സമർപ്പിച്ചിരുന്നതായിരുന്നുവെന്നും ഭരണഘടനാ മൂല്യങ്ങൾക്കും ഇന്ത്യയുടെ സംസ്കാരത്തിനും അദ്ദേഹം ഏറെ മുൻഗണന നൽകിയിരുന്നതായും ബിഹാർ ഗവർണർ ആരിഫ് മുഹമ്മദ് ഖാൻ അനുസ്മരിച്ചു.
PRESIDENT OF INDIA UNVEILS BUST OF FORMER PRESIDENT OF INDIA, SHRI KR NARAYANAN AT RAJ BHAVAN, THIRUVANANTHAPURAM
The President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu unveiled the bust of former President of India, Shri KR Narayanan at Raj Bhavan, Thiruvananthapuram today (October 23, 2025) in the presence of former President of India Shri Ram Nath Kovind, Governor of Kerala Shri Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, Governor of Bihar Shri Arif Mohammed Khan and other dignitaries.
Speaking on the occasion, the President said that Shri K R Narayanan’s life is a story of courage, perseverance, and self-belief. Through immense dedication and the power of education, he went on to occupy the highest constitutional office of our nation. His academic excellence was a symbol of what determination and opportunity can accomplish when guided by purpose. She stated that before entering politics, Shri Narayanan built a distinguished career in Indian Foreign Service. He upheld India’s values of peace, justice, and cooperation with utmost sincerity. She added that Shri Narayanan was always steadfast to the principles of fairness and inclusion.The President underlined that Shri Narayanan was deeply rooted in his connection to Kerala, his home state. He drew inspiration from its social progress and emphasis on education and inclusivity. Even after reaching the highest office, he remained connected to his roots. She stated that throughout his life, Shri Narayanan emphasised the role of education in human and national development. For him, education was not a privilege for the few, but a right for all. Shri Narayanan believed that human values are essential for the growth of a civilisation and are fundamental to the development of a society.The President said that Shri K R Narayanan has left behind a rich legacy of morality, integrity, compassion, and democratic spirit. As we remember him today, we should draw inspiration from his life which was dedicated to nation-building, to create a more inclusive, just, and compassionate India. She expressed confidence that his memory will inspire people to uphold the values of equality, integrity and public service that he stood for.
