Chief Minister to inaugurate; 3500 delegates; three sessions
A global Ayyappa Sangam will be held at Pampa Manappuram today (September 20, Saturday) with the aim of developing Sabarimala. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the conference, which will begin at 9.30 am. Devaswom, Cooperation and Ports Minister VN Vasavan will preside. Tamil Nadu Hindu Charitable Endowment Minister PK Sekhar Babu and IT Minister Palanivel Thyagarajan are special invitees. Registration of delegates will begin at 6 am. Bhajan from 8.30 to 9.30 am. The inaugural session will begin with a prayer by Padmasree Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri. Revenue (Devaswom) Department Secretary M G Rajamanikyam will present the approach document. This will be followed by a parallel discussion. From 12 pm, discussions will be held simultaneously at the Tattvamasi, Sri Rama Saketham and Sabari venues on the topics of Sabarimala Master Plan, Spiritual Tourism Circuit, Crowd Control and Preparations in Sabarimala. A musical program composed of Ayyappa songs led by Vijay Yesudas will begin at 2 pm. The discussions will be concluded at 3.20 pm. This will be followed by a closing session at the main venue. After that, facilities have been arranged for the delegates to visit Sabarimala.
3000 delegates, including those from foreign countries, will participate. Those who register first will get the opportunity. Along with them, 500 people from the religious, communal and cultural sectors will participate. The delegates will be admitted through passes. The Sabarimala Master Plan discussion will be held at the main venue, Tattvamasi. Professor Bejen S. Kothari of Thiruvananthapuram College of Engineering, Dr. Priyanjali Prabhakaran, and former Chief Secretary Dr. K. Jayakumar are the panelists. The Spiritual Tourism Circuit session will be held at the Srirama Saketham venue. Former Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister T.K.A. Nair, Kerala Tourism Secretary K. Biju, Kerala Travelmart founder S. Swaminathan, and Somatheeram Ayurveda Group Chairman and Managing Director Baby Mathew are the panelists. A session on crowd control and preparations will be held at the third venue, Sabari. Former DGP Jacob Punnoose, ADGP S. Sreejith and Alappuzha TD Medical College Principal Dr. B. Padmakumar are the panelists.
