ആയുർവേദത്തിൻ്റെ പ്രചാരത്തിനും സംരക്ഷണത്തിനും പുരോഗതിക്കും ഫലപ്രദമായ സംഭാവനകൾ നല്കുന്ന വ്യക്തികളെ ആദരിക്കുന്നതിനാണ് പുരസ്കാരങ്ങൾ നല്കുന്നത്.ശാസ്ത്രീയ പാരമ്പര്യം,ജീവന്തമായ പാരമ്പര്യം,ശാസ്ത്രീയ നവീകരണം എന്നിവയുടെ സവിശേഷമായ സംയോജനമാണ് ഈ വർഷത്തെ അവാർഡ് ജേതാക്കൾ പ്രതിനിധീകരിക്കുന്നത്.
പ്രൊഫ.ബൻവാരി ലാൽ ഗൗർ: ഭാഷയിലൂടെയും സാഹിത്യത്തിലൂടെയും ആയുർവേദത്തെ ശക്തിപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു
പ്രശസ്ത പണ്ഡിതനും അക്കാദമിക് വിദഗ്ധനുമായ പ്രൊഫ.ബൻവാരി ലാൽ ഗൗർ ആയുർവേദ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസത്തിനും സംസ്കൃത പാണ്ഡ്യത്തിനും ആറ് പതിറ്റാണ്ടിലേറെ സംഭാവന നൽകിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. സംസ്കൃതത്തിൽ 319 പ്രസിദ്ധീകരണങ്ങൾ ഉൾപ്പെടെ 31 പുസ്തകങ്ങളും മുന്നൂറിലധികം അക്കാദമിക് കൃതികളും അദ്ദേഹം രചിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.അദ്ദേഹത്തിൻ്റെ മാർഗ്ഗനിർദ്ദേശങ്ങളിലൂടെ 24 പി.എച്ച്.ഡി പണ്ഡിതരേയും 48 ബിരുദാനന്തര ബിരുദധാരികളേയും ആയുർവേദത്തിൻ്റെ അക്കാദമിക് ഭാവി രൂപപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതിന് സജ്ജരാക്കി.ആയുർവേദ സാഹിത്യത്തിനും വിദ്യാഭ്യാസത്തിനും നല്കിയ സംഭാവനകൾക്ക് രാഷ്ട്രപതി സമ്മാൻ ഉൾപ്പെടെ നിരവധി ദേശീയ ബഹുമതികൾ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് ലഭിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.
ബഹുമതിയെക്കുറിച്ച് വിശദീകരിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് പ്രൊഫ.ഗൗർ പറഞ്ഞു, “2025 ലെ ദേശീയ ധന്വന്തരി ആയുർവേദ പുരസ്കാരം ആയുർവേദത്തിൻ്റേയും സംസ്കൃതത്തിൻ്റേയും കൂട്ടായ ആത്മാവിൻ്റെ പ്രതിഫലനമായി ഞാൻ ഏറ്റവും വിനയത്തോടെ സ്വീകരിക്കുന്ന ഒരു ബഹുമതിയാണ്.എൻ്റെ ആജീവനാന്ത സംഭാവനകളെ അംഗീകരിച്ചതിനും ആയുർവേദത്തിൻ്റെ അക്കാദമിക്-സാഹിത്യ മേഖലകളെ പരിപോഷിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള ഉറച്ച പ്രതിബദ്ധതയ്ക്കും ആയുഷ് മന്ത്രാലയത്തിന് ഞാൻ ആത്മാർത്ഥമായി നന്ദി പറയുന്നു.ഈ പുരസ്കാരം വ്യക്തിപരമായ അംഗീകാരം മാത്രമല്ല മറിച്ച് നമ്മുടെ പങ്കിട്ട പാരമ്പര്യത്തിൻ്റെ ആഘോഷമാണ്. ആയുർവേദത്തിൻ്റെ ദീപം തീക്ഷ്ണതയോടും ആത്മാർത്ഥതയോടും അറിവിനോടുള്ള ആദരവോടും കൂടി മുന്നോട്ട് കൊണ്ടുപോകാൻ യുവ പണ്ഡിതന്മാരെ ഇത് പ്രചോദിപ്പിക്കുമെന്ന് ഞാൻ പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കുന്നു.”

ആയുർജെനോമിക്സ് മേഖലയിലെ മികച്ച പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങളെ മുൻനിർത്തി CSIR–IGIB യിലെ ശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞയായ വൈദ്യ ഭാവന പ്രശേറിന് അംഗീകാരം ലഭിച്ചു.പ്രകൃതി,ത്രിദോഷ തുടങ്ങിയ പരമ്പരാഗത ആയുർവേദ ആശയങ്ങളെ ആധുനിക ജീനോമിക് ശാസ്ത്രവുമായി അവരുടെ ഗവേഷണം ബന്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.ഇത് പ്രവചനാത്മകവും വ്യക്തിഗതവുമായ ആരോഗ്യ സംരക്ഷണത്തിൽ പുരോഗതി സാധ്യമാക്കുന്നു.

The Ministry of AYUSH conferred the National Dhanwantari Ayurveda Awards 2025 on Prof. Banwari Lal Gaur, Vaidya Neelakandhan Mooss E.T., and Vaidya Bhavana Prasher, recognising their outstanding contributions to the field of Ayurveda across academic, traditional, and scientific domains.
The awards celebrate individuals who have made impactful contributions to the promotion, preservation, and advancement of Ayurveda. This year’s awardees represent a unique convergence of classical scholarship, living tradition, and scientific innovation.
Prof. Banwari Lal Gaur: Strengthening Ayurveda through Language and Literature
Prof. Banwari Lal Gaur, a noted scholar and academician, has spent over six decades contributing to Ayurvedic education and Sanskrit scholarship. He has authored 31 books and over 300 academic works, including 319 publications in Sanskrit. His mentorship of 24 PhD scholars and 48 postgraduates highlights his role in shaping the academic future of Ayurveda.
He has received several national honours, including the Rashtrapati Samman, for his contributions to Ayurvedic literature and education.
Reflecting on the honour, Prof. Gaur said, “Receiving the National Dhanwantari Ayurveda Award 2025 is an honour that I accept with deep humility, as a reflection of the collective spirit of Ayurveda and Sanskrit. Vaidya Neelakandhan Mooss E.T.: Custodian of Kerala’s Healing Legacy
Vaidya Neelakandhan Mooss E.T., head of the Vaidyaratnam Group, represents the eighth generation of a family with a 200-year-old Ayurvedic legacy. He leads a team of over 100 physicians and has contributed to extending Kerala’s classical Ayurvedic practices to national and global audiences. His initiatives include community health programmes such as Marmayanam and Vajra, and a practical handbook on Panchakarma.
His work exemplifies the continuity of Ayurveda as a living tradition that adapts while preserving its classical roots.
On receiving the award, Vaidya Mooss said, “To be conferred with the National Dhanwantari Ayurveda Award 2025 is both humbling and deeply fulfilling. Vaidya Bhavana Prasher: Integrating Ayurveda and Genomics
Vaidya Bhavana Prasher, a scientist at CSIR–IGIB, has been recognised for her pioneering work in the field of Ayurgenomics. Her research bridges traditional Ayurvedic concepts such as Prakriti and Tridosha with modern genomic science, enabling advancements in predictive and personalised healthcare.
Her AI and ML-based Prakriti analysis protocols have been integrated into national programmes such as the Rashtriya Prakriti Parikshan Karyakram, helping expand the scope of Ayurveda in public health.
Vaidya Prasher said, “I am deeply humbled to receive the National Dhanwantari Ayurveda Award 2025. This recognition is not only a personal honour but also a reaffirmation of the importance of integrating scientific research with the timeless wisdom of Ayurveda.
