ജില്ലാ ആസ്ഥാനമായ പത്തനംതിട്ടയുടെ മുഖച്ഛായ മാറ്റുന്ന വികസനം നടന്നെന്ന് ആരോഗ്യവകുപ്പ് മന്ത്രി വീണാ ജോര്‍ജ്. പത്തനംതിട്ട നഗരസഭ വികസന സദസിന്റെ ഉദ്ഘാടനം അബാന്‍ ഓഡിറ്റോറിയത്തില്‍ നിര്‍വഹിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു മന്ത്രി. നഗരത്തിലെ റോഡുകള്‍ ബിഎംബിസി നിലവാരത്തിലായി. പത്തനംതിട്ട റിങ് റോഡ് സ്മാര്‍ട്ടായി. 50 കോടി രൂപ ചെലവഴിച്ച് നിര്‍മിക്കുന്ന പത്തനംതിട്ട സ്റ്റേഡിയം ജനുവരിയില്‍ നാടിന് സമര്‍പ്പിക്കും. പത്തനംതിട്ട ജനറല്‍ ആശുപത്രിയില്‍ 46 കോടി രൂപയുടെ വികസന പ്രവൃത്തി പുരോഗമിക്കുന്നു. പുതിയ നഴ്‌സിംഗ് കോളജ് നിര്‍മിച്ചു. മെഡിക്കല്‍ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ മേഖലയില്‍ വലിയ മാറ്റം ഉണ്ടായി. പുതിയ നിരവധി ഓഫീസ് കെട്ടിടങ്ങള്‍ യഥാര്‍ത്ഥ്യമായി. ഭക്ഷ്യ സുരക്ഷാ ലാബ് ഉടന്‍ നാടിനു സമര്‍പ്പിക്കുമെന്നും മന്ത്രി അറിയിച്ചു.
ജനകീയമായ ഇടപെടലാണ് സര്‍ക്കാരിന്റേത്. സാമൂഹ്യ ക്ഷേമ പെന്‍ഷന്‍ 500ല്‍ നിന്നും ആയിരം രൂപയിലേക്ക് ഉയര്‍ത്തണം എന്നതായിരുന്നു 2016 ല്‍ ആദ്യ മന്ത്രിസഭ യോഗം തീരുമാനിച്ചത്. എന്നാല്‍ ഒമ്പതു വര്‍ഷത്തിനിടെ പ്രതിമാസ ക്ഷേമപെന്‍ഷന്‍ 2000 രൂപയിലെത്തി. 35 മുതല്‍ 60 വയസുള്ള നിലവില്‍ ഏതെങ്കിലും സാമൂഹ്യ ക്ഷേമ പെന്‍ഷന്‍ ലഭിക്കാത്ത എ.എ.വൈ (മഞ്ഞക്കാര്‍ഡ്), പി.എച്ച്.എച്ച് (മുന്‍ഗണനാ വിഭാഗം-പിങ്ക് കാര്‍ഡ്) വിഭാഗത്തില്‍പെട്ട സ്ത്രീകള്‍ക്ക് പ്രതിമാസം 1000 രൂപ വീതം സ്ത്രീ സുരക്ഷ പെന്‍ഷന്‍, ജോലി ഇല്ലാത്ത യുവാക്കള്‍ക്ക് കണക്ട് ടു ജോബ് പദ്ധതി വഴി ആയിരം രൂപയും എന്നിവ നല്‍കാന്‍ തീരുമാനമായി. അങ്കണവാടി വര്‍ക്കര്‍മാരുടെയും ആശമാരുടെയും വേതനം 1000 രൂപ വര്‍ധിപ്പിച്ചു.
കുടുംബശ്രീ എഡിഎസിനുള്ള ഗ്രാന്‍ഡ് ആയിരം രൂപ കൂട്ടി. നെല്ലിന്റെ സംഭരണ വില 30 രൂപയായി ഉയര്‍ത്തി. റബറിന്റെ താങ്ങു വില 200 രൂപയാക്കി.
നവംബര്‍ ഒന്നിന് അതിദരിദ്രര്‍ ഇല്ലാത്ത സംസ്ഥാനമായി
കേരളത്തെ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കുമെന്നും മന്ത്രി കൂട്ടിചേര്‍ത്തു.
നഗരസഭയുടെ കഴിഞ്ഞ അഞ്ചു വര്‍ഷത്തെ വികസന പ്രവര്‍ത്തനം ഉള്‍പ്പെടുത്തിയ പ്രോഗ്രസ് റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട് മന്ത്രി വീണാ ജോര്‍ജ് പ്രകാശനം ചെയ്തു.
സമാനത ഇല്ലാത്ത വികസനത്തിനാണ് കഴിഞ്ഞ അഞ്ചു വര്‍ഷത്തിനിടെ നഗരസഭ സാക്ഷ്യം വഹിച്ചതെന്ന് അധ്യക്ഷനായ പത്തനംതിട്ട നഗരസഭ ചെയര്‍പേഴ്‌സണ്‍ അഡ്വ. ടി സക്കീര്‍ ഹുസൈന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. ഹാജി മീരാസാഹിബ് സ്മാരക ബസ് സ്റ്റാന്‍ഡിന്റെ നിലവാരം ഉയര്‍ത്തി. നഗര ഹൃദയത്തില്‍ ടൗണ്‍ സ്‌ക്വയര്‍, ഹാപ്പിനസ് പാര്‍ക്ക്, ടേക്ക് എ ബ്രേക്ക്, ആധുനിക കഫെറ്റീരിയ, മറ്റു വിനോദ വിശ്രമ ഉപാധികള്‍, ട്രാവലേഴ്‌സ് ലോഞ്ച് എന്നിവ സാധ്യമാക്കി. 28.50 കോടി രൂപ ചെലവില്‍ നിര്‍മാണം പുരോഗമിക്കുന്ന അമൃത 2.0 പദ്ധതിയിലൂടെ ചരിത്രത്തില്‍ ആദ്യമായി നഗരത്തില്‍ സമ്പൂര്‍ണ്ണ കുടിവെള്ള പദ്ധതി ഉറപ്പാക്കിയതായും അദ്ദേഹം കൂട്ടിച്ചേര്‍ത്തു.
മികച്ച പ്രവര്‍ത്തനം നടത്തിയ ഹരിത കര്‍മ സേനാംഗങ്ങളെ ആദരിച്ചു. നഗരസഭ വൈസ് ചെയര്‍പേഴ്‌സണ്‍ ആമിനാ ഹൈദരലി, സ്ഥിരം സമിതി അധ്യക്ഷരായ കെ ആര്‍ അജിത് കുമാര്‍, ജെറി അലക്‌സ്, അനില അനില്‍, എസ് ഷമീര്‍, ആസൂത്രണ സമിതി അംഗം പി കെ അനീഷ്, നഗരസഭാംഗങ്ങളായ ശോഭാ കെ മാത്യു, വി ആര്‍ ജോണ്‍സന്‍, ആര്‍ സാബു, നീനു മോഹന്‍, എ അഷ്‌റഫ്, ലാലി രാജു, സുജ അജി, വിമല ശിവന്‍, എല്‍ സുമേഷ് ബാബു, സെക്രട്ടറി എ മുംതാസ്, സി ഡി എസ് ചെയര്‍പേഴ്‌സണ്‍ പൊന്നമ്മ ശശി എന്നിവര്‍ പങ്കെടുത്തു.
The face of the country has changed through development: Minister Veena George:
The Minister inaugurated the Pathanamthitta Municipality Development Forum.
Health Minister Veena George said that development has taken place that will change the face of Pathanamthitta, the district headquarters. The minister was inaugurating the Pathanamthitta Municipality Development Conference at the Aban Auditorium. The roads in the city have reached BMBC standards. The Pathanamthitta Ring Road has become smart. The Pathanamthitta Stadium, which is being built at a cost of Rs 50 crore, will be dedicated to the nation in January. Development work worth Rs 46 crore is progressing at the Pathanamthitta General Hospital. A new nursing college has been built. There has been a big change in the medical education sector. Several new office buildings have become a reality. The food safety lab will be dedicated to the nation soon, the minister also said.
The government’s intervention is a popular one. The first cabinet meeting in 2016 decided to increase the social welfare pension from 500 to 1,000 rupees. However, in nine years, the monthly welfare pension has reached 2,000 rupees. It has been decided to provide a monthly women’s security pension of 1,000 rupees each to women in the AAY (Yellow Card) and PHH (Priority Category-Pink Card) categories, who are currently not receiving any social welfare pension, between the ages of 35 and 60, and a thousand rupees to unemployed youth through the Connect to Job scheme. The wages of Anganwadi workers and ASHAs have been increased by 1,000 rupees. The grant for Kudumbashree ADS has been increased by 1,000 rupees. The procurement price of paddy has been increased to 30 rupees. The support price of rubber has been increased to 200 rupees. On November 1, the state will become a state without extreme poverty.
The minister added that he will announce the Chief Minister of Kerala.
Minister Veena George released the progress report covering the municipality’s development activities over the past five years.
Pathanamthitta Municipality Chairperson Adv. T Zakir Hussain said that the municipality has witnessed unparalleled development in the last five years. The Haji Meera Sahib Memorial Bus Stand has been upgraded. Town Square, Happiness Park, Take a Break, modern cafeteria, other recreational facilities and Travelers Lounge have been made possible in the heart of the city. He added that for the first time in history, a complete drinking water scheme has been ensured in the city through the Amrita 2.0 project, which is being constructed at a cost of Rs. 28.50 crore.
