konnivartha.com/ Kochi: Ernakulam City Police congratulated civil police officer TK Amal for saluting the national flag at the garbage dump. DCP gave special appreciation this morning. The pictures of the national flag being found abandoned on reaching the spot and getting out of the jeep immediately saluting and carefully taking it back were viral on social media.

Congratulation has been pouring in for Amal after hearing the news through and outside the media. Many people, including Major Ravi, came in person this morning to express their congratulations. At the same time, the residents of the area are raising criticism that even though this information was reported to the police at 9 o’clock yesterday morning, they reached the spot late. The police, coastguard and navy have started a joint investigation into the incident. It is known that action will be taken against those who irresponsibly leave the national flag along with garbage on the road.

Yesterday morning, the Coast Guard found national flags abandoned along with garbage near the graveyard of Irumpanam  Kadthukadav Municipal Corporation. Local residents say that the tipper used to deposit garbage here. The Coast Guard flag, insignia and life jackets were on, making it easy to identify. After the same was reported by the locals, people’s representatives reached the spot.
